Goal update- June

3. Piece Flag Day Farm quilt I'm going to try and get it done over the long weekend.
7. Continue with Layer Cake Quilt Along Still waiting on the backing fabric.

8. Start and finish Split Decision quilt Still on the floor.

9. Start and finish Christmas quilt Maybe Christmas in July FNSI

10. Fig and Plum layer cake something quilt I decided to use it for the Synchronized Squares quilt along and the pattern was super cute, but I made a mistake with the solid. I wasn't sold on it, so I didn't finish on schedule, so I am just going to change things around.

11. Skinny Strips Quilt using Prayer Flag jelly roll

12. Fresh Cottons jelly roll something Have the braid quilt pattern.

14. Star Sampler quilt Ugly. May just drop it. Konda at Moose on the Porch is planning a star quilt along.

15. Batik quilt Need to finish up piecing and add the borders.
16. String quilt Need to work on a few more blocks.
17. Stash busting Haven't added to really.

18. Yo Yo strips quilt Saw this on the cover of American Quilting and Patchwork and decided to add it to the list. I have 81 yo-yos done. Only 328 to go.

Yeah, that is orange

I was expecting peach. I would have been OK with coral, but it is orange. The name should have clued me in- Persimmon. The fabric (woven heather) feels lovely, so I am going to suck it up and go with it. The piecing instructions for the Synchronized Squares quilt are up and I need to get it together. I'm a little afraid actually. The pictures are proof.

Yo Yos!

A recent issue of American Patchwork & Quilting that had a yo-yo quilt on the cover. April maybe? Anyway, I liked it and put it on my to-do list. I had a coupon for my LQS so I picked up two fat quarters to reach the minimum for the coupon with the yo-yos in mind. Yesterday, I stopped at Joann's and they had all their quilt notions 50% off, so I picked up a Clover Yo-Yo maker. Genius! I got the extra large one which finishes at 2 3/8 inches. The jumbo size seemed a little too large finishing at 3 1/2 inches.
They are fun to make and it allows for multi-tasking while watching TV. I am able to get 9 out of a fat quarter. I have 18 done. I think the quilt I saw on the cover calls for over 400. But I'm on my way.

Sewing soothes the soul

I can't find my camera for pictures of FNSI, but I got the layer cake squares cut for the Synchronized Squares Quilt Along and my BOM. I had to order solid fabric for the quilt along and I am trying out a woven. I have no idea what to expect.

I could use some sewing time

This evening I could really use some sewing time! I received my first Fat Quarter Shop Block of the Month. It is so pretty! I also need to cut up my fabric for the Synchronized Squares Quilt Along.
Yay, Friday Night Sew In.

Synchronized Squares Quilt Along at P.S. I Quilt

I'm joining yet another quilt along. I missed Rachel's Pinwheel Quilt Along  and the Postage Stamp one, but third times the charm.
I am using my Fig and Plum Layer Cake. I've been sitting on it and had assigned it to another project, but I think the raw edges will look 'cute' with the florals. I don't have my solid colour picked out yet. I am not using a pre-cut for the solid background so I will have more flexibility with colours.Any suggestions?
Rachel gives very detailed instructions so I suggest joining in. There are some cool fabrics being chosen so the resulting quilts should be awesome.

Past 100

I just saw that I crossed the 100 post mark. This is post 102.

I received happy mail today! I won a yard of Bella Solids Grass from Fat Quarter Shop through the Bella Parade. I like the texture of the Bella Solids. It seems less coarse and a heavier weight than other solids. I have no idea how I am going to use this, but I am looking forward to.

I have a small project going on now; making a name tag for quilt guild. I am cross stitching because under this quilting exterior beats the heart of a cross stitcher. I pulled out my alphabet pattern book from 1990. I bought it because my sister wanted me to make a nameplate for her then boyfriend. I used beige fabric with navy and green floss and framed it with an embroidery hoop. They have been married for 19 years now. I will post a picture when it is done.

Goal update- May

2. Finish Martinique quilt
3. Piece Flag Day Farm quilt  I fished it out and I am getting to it.
4. Get all disciples in Last Supper done I need to take this off the list
6. Sew one article of clothing I LOVE my skirt. I have worn it several times. It washes great too.
7. Continue with Layer Cake Quilt Along I need to get backing fabric to finish it out.
8. Start and finish Split Decision quilt The blocks are laying on the floor. I need to re-arrange.
9. Start and finish Christmas quilt Still in the stash
10. Fig and Plum layer cake something quilt I picked up the Sugar Twist pattern, but nothing beyond that.
11. Skinny Strips Quilt using Prayer Flag jelly roll
12. Fresh Cottons jelly roll something I think it is perfectly suited for a braid quilt.
14. Star Sampler quilt I don't know what to think about these blocks. It isn't the blocks; it is my colour choice. I am going to plough through and hope that my layout fabric redeems the blocks.
15. Batik quilt It came together pretty quick. I need to use more of my batik fat quarters.
16. String quilt I think I started this too soon. I don't have enough accumulated scraps to really make it work. The blocks all look a bit alike.
17. Stash busting I have random fat quarters left over that I need to use up.
